Resol-СО2 process is the name of a binder single-component system consisting of exfoliated phenol-formaldehyde resin. The resin is mixed with sand in the amount of 1-3% of the weight of the sand, after which it is blown with CO2 gas, which goes into a closed core box. Almost all types of sand can be used for this process: quartz,
chromite,
zircon, olivine. The high initial strength and fluidity of the mixture allow the production of rods with complex geometry and guaranteed density. The advantages of the CO2 process include:
– Low emission of volatile organic substances
– Excellent quality of the casting surface
– Easy knockout
– The best fluidity of sand-of the resin mixture in comparison with ZHSS
